The delicious prospect of a long weekend

Nova Scotians live a down time deprived existence from New Year’s Day to Good Friday. And then they get retribution by having a four-day weekend (somehow minus the Saturday for businesses).  Although this start of it, as the workday ends now, appears to be sunny (sunny!  really!), it’s cold as, well, you fill in the blank.  And there is snow forecast for Easter Sunday. (I would not ordinarily call it Easter Sunday but this is Nova Scotia, where church hols seem to be woven very tightly into the civic calendar even while everyone talks religious freedom).

I’ve got a stockpile of books on hand and a son at home for another couple days. It doesn’t get much better than this when it comes to a free vacation.
