Back out west

SFO has installed a display that I can’t get enough of–it’s hard to see an installation to one’s heart’s content when it’s in an airport.  I’ve come through about three times since it’s been up, however, so that must go back about six months.  It’s a fully worked set up of Catalina Island pottery–everything from huge Ali Baba urns to little salt shakers.  It would make more sense for it to be at LAX maybe, but it’s here, and so am I.

San Francisco’s weather was its own true self when BART pulled out of the SFO station this evening:  fog sitting on the trees between there and Colma. Here in the East Bay–where the sun was shining hard even at 7pm, it’s much warmer. Kay and I walked in the dark along Solano Avenue, after supper at Boran, and felt relieved by the slight breeze, but hardly chilled by it. It’s cooler than evenings have been “at home.” And, as yet, still homier.
